Happy 46th Year of Independence, Papua New Guineans:

Unity in Diversity - That's the motto of our Independent State of Papua New Guinea.

It provides us with a reason to celebrate every September, to mark the independence that Papua New Guinea achieved in 1975.

As we all work towards the future of our nation, our team at Niugini Assurance feels energised by the opportunities ahead.

More languages than the entire continent of Europe 

The motto of Unity in Diversity rings true for those of us in Papua New Guinea. 

After all, PNG's population of approximately 8.8m people and nearly 850 languages equal diversity in anyone's language.

According to the World Economic Forum, that's a greater number of languages than the entire continent of Europe. 

In March 2021, the World Economic Forum ranked Papua New Guinea number one for linguistic diversity.

Papua New Guinea traditions strengthen its future

As locals, we know that the people's respect for diversity is part of Papua New Guinea's  strength.

And, here at Niugini Assurance, we know that Papua New Guinea is a country whose traditions strengthen its independence and future.

More than words

2021 has been a challenging year in Papua New Guinea due to Covid19.  

But it has been a time of unity, too. 

The people of Papua New Guinea are pulling together to fight this pandemic. 

That unity shows how the motto of Papua New Guinea represents more than words.  

United in independence

Papua New Guinea is truly a diverse yet united country. 

We can all take pride in that, especially as we celebrate this 46th year of independence for our nation.
